My secrets told over fruit-salad

Hi
I'm a size of a little blueberry now and am growing little buds where my arms and legs will be. I can't wait to use my arms to give hugs and use my legs to jump and climb. I'm going to have so much fun!

Last weekend all 3 of us made a special visit to go see grandma and grandpa Simkins in cedar city. mom and dad didn't want to tell anyone for another month but grandma and grandpa could tell mommy wasn't telling them everything about the Dr. Apt. She couldn't take it anymore and told daddy that they would tell them in the morning over breakfast. They finished the cereal and fruit salad (blueberries included) and then shared the exciting news. Click here to see their reaction.

So my secret is getting out and in one more month, everyone else will know! I hope they are as excited to meet me as I am to meet them.

Love,
Baby

It's me, a small little pea

I can't believe I'm already 6 weeks along. I'm the size of a small pea and I am rapidly growing. I will triple in size this week. My tiny heart is starting to pump this week and I have begun growing basic facial features like my eyes and ears. Mommy hopes I get her elf ears and Daddy hopes I have his crystal blue eyes. I'm sure they will think I'm pretty dang cute even if I don't have those features!
They have been talking a lot about little ol' me and it's been hard to keep the secret. They want to share with the rest of the family, when they know I have successfully reached the 2nd trimester. I know my Grandma and Grandpa Simkins and Southworth are going to be so happy. My uncles and aunts can hardly wait too. It's going to be so fun sharing the news. Great Grandma Simkins is so desperately wanting me to come into their family. She mentions me almost every time they see her. She hopes to be alive when I am born, and I hope she is too. I am so excited to meet her. She is 102 now and I think she can wait at LEAST 8 more months to see me! She's a strong one, and I am too. :)
I have a couple names right now. Mommy and Daddy have come up with a few ideas. They still don't know if I'm a girl or boy so they had to agree on both. Here are a few they are thinking of.

If I'm a bOy:
Michael Reed Southworth (I would go by "reed" after my grandpa Simkins)
Issac Reed Southworth
Elijah Reed Southworth
Grant Reed Southworth
Owen Reed Southworth
(dad's middle name is Elwin and they may also add this to the name or any last name of presidents Jefferson, Edison, etc as a first name- mom's not convinced)

If I'm a GiRl:
(My great grandma Simkins's is Grace and my great grandma Southworth's is Isabelle)
Eden Grace Southworth
Lillian Belle Southworth
Eliza Belle/Grace Southworth
Lydia Belle/Grace Southworth
(mom also likes Esme, Piper, Cecilia, & Fiona Daddy needs more convincing)

I'm happy they have so many options and more time to decide. I want my name to fit me perfectly!

Baby

A BIG day for little me- Feb 22, 2011

Today was a great day. Mommy went to the Dr. and found out about me. I've been trying to keep myself a secret for a few weeks and I couldn't keep it in anymore. I let the Dr tell her my secret. She came in and told mommy about me and she was so surprised! Mommy and Daddy have been trying to welcome me for 5 months and started to think they needed a little help. So that is why mommy went to the Doctor. Little did she know, I was already on my way and I didn't need help.

After mommy got over the shock she was so happy- I could feel her heartbeat race and I knew she just wanted to jump up and down with excitement, but she kept it cool. After a few more tests, mommy left the Dr. so excited. She wanted to call Daddy and let him know the exciting news, but really wanted to find a fun way to tell him. She stopped off at Smiths and bought these little onesies to share the news. I still have one more secret for them, I'm going to wait to tell them whether I'm a girl or boy. So mommy bought one of each. If I'm a boy my outfit will say "My daddy rocks" if I'm a girl my outfit will say "Daddy loves me".

Mommy brought these home with the test that told her that I'm coming. Two lines means "I'm Here" :) along with the baby formula and baby washcloths the nice nurse gave her. Mommy couldn't believe that this baby stuff was for HER baby! 9 months seems like a long time away. She handed the bag to Daddy and said that the Dr. visit went okay but that they told her to pick up these few things at Smiths. He searched in the bag and put the outfits aside barely looking at them and said "cool"... Mommy was not happy with that response and guided him back to take another look- he still didn't get it. So she unwrapped the test and showed him the two lines. Daddy isn't familiar with these kind of test and didn't know what it meant. Once mommy spelled it out for him.. He was SO EXCITED. He cried tears of joy and they linked arms and danced around in the kitchen singing "were having a baby, were having a baby." I knew they would be excited! :)
Today was a big day for me. I was the only thing they talked about for the rest of the day. They couldn't get the smiles off of their faces Daddy and Mommy had plans to go see my cousin Christianna and he had thought the onsies were for her. (hence his first response) She was born just 24 hours earlier and was still in the hospital. All three of us went to the hospital. Although I'm just the size of a poppy seed, I knew what was going on.

Christianna was so cute! She was so little and quiet. She had long fingers and toes. I can't wait until I am here so I can play with her. We are going to have SO MUCH fun! Mommy and Daddy were so happy to hold her and they couldn't help but think of me. How I would look, how little I would be, how cute my fingers and toes would be, how it would be to hold me for the very first time. I could feel their excitement and Love and I'm so excited too! :)

Baby
